Summary
Responsible for implementing the project ESH processes, procedures and system on a brownfield project. Reports to the Project ES and H Manager or designee. Works closely with construction Superintendents to coordinate ESH activities based on project schedule.
Role Overview
:
Develop and implement ES and Hmonitoring and compliance tools per Project procedures.
:
Maintain documentation and compliance data base;
:
Conduct subcontractor observations/audits and inspections to ensure compliance with the Project procedures
:
Provides technical support to Construction, Subcontract, Procurement and other Project team members for ESH concerns or issues
:
Participates in meetings, as required, with customers, project team members, and contractors/subcontractors to advise them of safety and health requirements
:
Knowledge of safety and health laws and regulations and applicable agencies' permitting processes and responsibilities.

Skilled in oral and written communication and knowledge of computer applications.
:
Proficient in Behavior Based Safety philosophies.
Basic Qualifications
:
A degree in the field of Safety and Health preferred or a minimum of 5 years' training and training development experience.
:
A recognized certification preferred.
:
Must be proficient in MS Word suite of programs
:
Must have good communication skills and proficient with computer software.
:
Bilingual in Spanish is a plus
Additional Information This is a field based role with the expectation that at least 80 of the time will be spent outdoors in heavy industrial construction setting conducting field inspections which will require prolonged periods of walking on uneven surfaces, standing, climbing ladders and stairs, kneeling, squatting, working on scaffolding and elevated platforms, and working in small or confined spaces that involves crawling. May also be required to work nightshift and/or weekends.
Safety representatives must have a back ground in Safety which includes experience and time in the field and specific training courses such as OSHA 30 Hour and certificate training as a minimum. Certificate training can include 3rd party safety technitian training such as:

NCCER : Field Safety (CSST) Certification through ABC Training Center, or
:
ISTC : Job site Safety Technician Academy (JSST) through ISTC Training Center
Optionally, safety representatives may hold certifications from the Board of Certified Safety Professionals as listed below:

Occupational Health and Safety Technologists (OHST),

Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST),

Associate Safety Professional (ASP), or

Certified Safety Professional (CSP)
